The April Brewers Cup
We have a grand vision for this competition long term but we have to take it step by step. The idea for 2023 and 2024 is to create a community of people that want to be a part of turning this concept into something relevant that can be a part of taking this industry forward. We are looking for sponsors for the next editions of the April brewers Cup, whether it's in Equipment, Prize or support.
“I have competed in coffee since before I even started to work with it. It’s been with me in one shape or another since the very beginning. I know how it feels to forget all your words on stage, spill the coffee over the judges and I also know how it feels to stand on the world stage with the pressure of being in the final. It’s a ride, and win or lose there is so much to learn about oneself and about coffee.“

Our Mission
The April Brewers Cup is an international coffee brewing competition designed around the April Coffee Brewers. The idea is to create a competition format that can be complementary to the World Brewers Cup.
One of the challenges a competitor has is that there aren’t many opportunities to practice for the official competitions. That is something that I have experienced first hand myself.
As a competitor you compete once or twice a year - if you’re lucky enough to make it to the World Championship.
The April Brewers Cup is here to change that. We are creating a system where the competitors will receive feedback on their ability to brew and serve. While at the same time making it inclusive and inspirational for the audience.
The Competition
Each competition has 18 competitors that battle for the win throughout two rounds. The first round is a knockout concept where three competitors brew one cup of coffee each. The judges will evaluate all three cups on stage and point on the cup that will make it to the next round.
The second part of the competition is designed to mimic the World Brewers Cup. The six finalists have ten minutes to brew, present, and serve three cups of coffee to the judges. The competitors will be scored and the top three is announced at the end of the day.
All the competitors will brew the same coffee which will be supplied by a local roastery. The competitors have to brew with the April Brewers but beyond that, they are welcome to use either the supplied equipment or their own.
I have come to see coffee competitions as the optimal format to improve my coffee skills and network. It’s been the most important variable of my own growth in the coffee industry and I want to help others get that opportunity as well.
